We are excited to announce the release today of four iOS apps developed by Nolasoft for Flickstream.com! These apps allow users to view a rotating set of movie content for a low one-time app purchase cost!  Each includes over 30 full length movies that are updated on a regular basis, plus each work on both the iPad and the iPhone/iPod touch!

AngryCat 1.2 and iTriangle 2.01 Released!

It’s been a busy month here at Nolasoft!  In the last week, two of our apps have received significant updates that have been approved by Apple.

Previously, we had submitted iTriangle 1.2 for release, but after a rejection from Apple, we decided to expand the feature set significantly!  We then took the same feature set and applied them to AngryCat.

New features for iTriangle include:

  • iOS 4 support
  • High-resolution artwork for the iPhone 4 retina display
  • iPad support
  • Now has three distinct ding zones – depending on where you tap the iTriangle, the chimes vary for a more realistic sound
  • Two-finger swipe to change the background color

In addition, the paid versions of both apps now include the ability to rotate into landscape mode, and the free versions now have an in-app upgrade available to the “Plus” paid version, removing ads and enabling landscape mode.

iTriangle 1.1 Resubmitted to Apple – New and Improved!

iTriangle 1.1 has once again been submitted to Apple for approval.  The app features some additional improvements over the previous 1.1 submission.

This update is for the $0.99 version of iTriangle and not available for the free ad-supported version at this time.

What’s New in 1.1?

  • iPad support!  And not just “plays well as an iPhone app on the iPad”, but full-screen, resolution optimized iPad support.  Plus it’s a universal binary, so existing iTriangle users will automagically have access to the iPad-optimized version directly!
  • Rotation support.  iTriangle now rotates to the orientation of your device, so if you like to ding right-side-up, upside-down, on your side, or reversed, the app will rotate to fit your needs.
  • Background colors.  You can now change the background color of iTriangle by swiping left-to-right or right-to-left.
  • Positional dings.  Just as the chime of a real triangle varies slightly depending on what third of the triangle you strike, the chime in iTriangle now varies based on which side of the iTriangle you tap.  For additional dinging fun, you can also now drag your finger around the screen and the app will chime as you go from one part of the iTriangle to another.

iTriangle 1.1 Submitted to Apple

We are excited to announce that we have submitted update 1.1 of iTriangle to Apple for review to release on the iPhone/iPod touch/iPad platform.  This update is for the $0.99 version of iTriangle and not available for the free ad-supported version at this time.

What’s New in 1.1?

  • iPad support!  And not just “plays well as an iPhone app on the iPad”, but full-screen, resolution optimized iPad support.  Plus it’s a universal binary, so existing iTriangle users will automagically have access to the iPad-optimized version directly!

Why Only Update the Paid Version?

At this time, only the paid version of iTriangle has been updated.  This is largely due to there being a current lack of good iPad-compatible ad networks at this time, especially ones supporting the ad format and size we need.  This isn’t to say that we’ll never update the free version to have iPad support, but there is no current plan to do so until the iPad ad landscape changes.

But if you’re an iTriangle fan and want an iPad version, the $0.99 paid version is really pretty cheap – for the cost of a McDonald’s cheeseburger, you can rock out on the iPad!

Why Was iTriangle the First App to Be Updated to iPad Support?

We needed to start somewhere, and iTriangle had probably the least number of changes to make it iPad compatible while still retaining it’s core use.  Plus iTriangle has a surprisingly large international appeal, so having it potentially available as an international launch app sounded pretty cool.  But don’t worry, there are more iPad-compatible apps coming down the pipeline.
